The Latest Regarding Your Needed CE’s – MAC to Offer Amazing Virtual Event!

As you most likely know, on July 17, 2020, the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) sent all health professionals a letter clarifying the Governor’s Order 2020-150. This Order provides for temporary relief from continuing education requirements as part of the renewal process during the current state of emergency. Chiropractors whose licenses expire in November 2020 may renew 90 days prior, starting on September 3, 2020. However, only if the state of emergency is extended beyond August 11th will CE’s be waived prior to renewal.

In meetings with LARA, the MAC was advised that if the state of emergency order is not extended beyond August 11th, chiropractors whose licenses expire in 2020 will still need to have the required 30 continuing credits prior to their renewal date.

Due to all the uncertainty about whether or not the emergency order will be renewed after August 11th, and to be sure we are prepared to provide you with the quality programs you will most likely need, the MAC is moving forward with plans for an amazing, virtual Fall convention in October! All credits earned will be counted for doctors renewing this year and in 2021!

We are listening to our members who want us to move forward with a quality CE virtual event without cumbersome restrictions on in-person gatherings. We have found a platform that will seem as if you are attending a live convention! Our plans include an interactive exhibit hall, social areas, classrooms that you can actually join virtually, and the opportunity to view quality, state of the art programs.

We are so excited to share this new platform with you! This virtual experience will provide doctors throughout the state the option to obtain live CE requirements without having to leave home. So, be sure to watch for the formal schedule and exciting details coming very soon!

If you have difficulty attending virtually due to a lack of a wifi connection or other technology issues, the option of obtaining a CE waiver from the Michigan Board of Chiropractic is still available. If you need additional information regarding obtaining a CE waiver, or have any questions or concerns regarding continuing education during Michigan’s state of emergency related to the COVID-19 pandemic, contact the MAC office at info@chiromi.com or (517) 367-2225.
