Not Sure If Your License Expires in 2020? Click here to find out!

If your license expires in 2020, NOW is the time to renew, if you want to take advantage of the continuing education provisions in Executive Order 2020-150! See below for more information!

Executive Order 2020-150 allows licensees to renew without the required 30 hours of continuing education, as long as they renew while Michigan is in a declared state of emergency. The current state of emergency continues through September 4, 2020 at 11:59 pm.

The MAC has been advocating for the profession, meeting with regulators from the Bureau of Professional Licensing and other representatives from the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, to ensure that chiropractors across Michigan could renew their licenses as soon as possible to take advantage of this provision, considering the financial and logistical difficulties in obtaining continuing education during these trying times.

While we fully expect the state of emergency to be extended, it is not guaranteed, so we recommend renewing as soon as possible, if you want to take advantage of the CE provision found in EO 2020-150. See “Renewing Your Chiropractic License: A Step-By-Step Tutorial” below for more information on license renewal.

If Governor Whitmer extends the state of emergency, we will inform the profession as soon as possible.

License Expire in 2021? Virtual Fall Convention Has You Covered!

If your license expires in 2021, CE credits you complete at our Fall Convention will count toward your 30 hours of CE required by November 30, 2021.

If Michigan’s state of emergency is extended past October 11, 2020, any classes you take during their scheduled time will count as live, in-person hours. If the state of emergency is not in effect at the time you take these courses during their scheduled times, or if you take them “on demand,” they will not count as “live” hours, but will still be acceptable continuing education, as Michigan’s Chiropractic Administrative Rules allow for 15 online, “distance-learning” hours every two-year renewal cycle.

MAC Pro Tip! State of Michigan license renewals for chiropractors are now live, but there have been some glitches in the State’s online system. Their tech people have worked out the glitches in the system, and it appears to be working fine now. However, if the system tells you that you have no renewal available, wait 10 minutes and then try again (after making sure your license does indeed expire in 2020).
