Oakland County Requirements for “Essential” Businesses
MAC Recommends Adopting These Requirements if You Continue to See Patients

Yesterday, in response to State of Michigan Executive Order 2020-21, Oakland County released Emergency Order (2020-5), which lays out requirements for “essential” businesses that remain open during the “stay-at-home” order. Generally, the Oakland County order will require tighter screening procedures for employees of essential businesses and implementation of social distancing for employees and customers.

Under the order, businesses and operations remaining open under EO 2020-21 must take the following precautions:

  1. Develop and implement a daily screening program for all staff. For screening criteria, please review the Order.
  2. Develop and implement a plan to manage and control social/physical distancing (at least 6 ft spacing) for employees working alongside one another and customers waiting in lines within or outside the business.
  3. Limit capacity inside facilities to provide for social distancing of customers and between customers and employees including but not limited to visual markings and signage; entrance limits and specialized hours.
  4. Publish this order at entrance of the facility and to the members of the public at large by all reasonable means available.

Although this Order only applies to Oakland County at this time, the MAC highly recommends that all chiropractic offices that remain open during the State of Michigan’s “stay-at-home” order (Executive Order 2020-21) adopt these protocols, in addition to those already set forward by the State of Michigan and the CDC.

ChiroHealthUSA SBA Disaster Loan Webinar
The MAC HIGHLY RECOMMENDS This Resource for Anyone Seeking These Loans

This afternoon, MAC staff sat in a ChiroHealthUSA’s webinar, SBA Disaster Relief/Tax Credits & Rebates for Chiropractors. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this resource, which is highly informative and will help anyone seeking one of these loans immensely.

Some tips we learned from the webinar:

  • The SBA website, https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela, has crashed numerous times due to extremely high volume. Try going at off-peak times. They recommend after 7pm.
  • Even if you aren’t sure you need the loan, APPLY ANYWAY. There is no cost to apply, and no obligation to accept the loan after being approbed. It’s must better to have access to funds from the loan and not need them than to need them and not have access.
  • APPLY NOW!!! This is a national fund, and while it sounds like a $350 billion pool of money is large, it could go quick.
  • Your office does not need to be under a mandatory shut down order to apply.
  • A personal credit score of 640+ is required to receive one of these loans.
  • There is a $25,000 maximum for an unsecured loan. Above that requires collateral, which can be in the form of accounts receivable.
