Contact Members of Congress Now, Urge Them to Support Relief for Chiropractors and Other Providers
Urge Them to Co-Sponsor the Immediate Relief for Rural Facilities and Providers Act!

The Immediate Relief for Rural Facilities and Providers Act has been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives (H.R. 6365) and U.S. Senate (S. 3559) to address the ongoing crisis facing the U.S. health care system during the COVID-19 pandemic. As hospitals, clinics and providers across the country face increasing strain, this legislation would extend a lifeline with grant and low-interest loan opportunities to rural hospitals and providers, including chiropractors, and ensure that they are able to continue providing care to the millions of Americans who depend on them.

Contact Senators Stabenow and Peters, as well as your U.S. representative, TODAY and urge them co-sponsor the bill and work to include this language in the next COVID-19 relief package.
DIFS Bulletin 2020-12-INS: Essential Insurance Services

Many of you have asked us about the operation of Michigan’s health insurers in light of EO 2020-21. On March 30, 2020, the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services issued “
DIFS Bulletin 2020-12-INS: Essential Insurance Services,” to clarify.

EO 2020-21 allows “critical infrastructure workers” to continue working. These workers include some workers in the insurance industry, but only to the extent that their work cannot be done by telephone or remotely. This includes insurance companies, HMOs, third party administrators, etc., as well as any workers necessary to the continued operation of these entities.

The DIFS Bulletin states: “All claims must continue to be processed and paid in a timely manner… Entities and persons regulated by DIFS must continue to comply with all applicable statutory and regulatory deadlines and requirements unless such deadlines and requirements are expressly waived or modified by the Director. Companies that experience difficulty in meeting any statutory or regulatory deadline or requirement as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic must contact DIFS immediately.”

Please Note: Michigan timely payment laws allow payers 45 days from when they receive the information to adjudicate a claim. Many payers traditionally pay faster than that, but during this time, they may have a slower process.
