Congressional Deal Adds $300+ Billion to PPP, $60 Billion to EIDL Program
Funds Expected to Only Last a Couple of Days After Bill Signed Into Law by President Trump, So Don’t Delay!

Today, the United States Senate voted to approve a deal reached by congressional leadership and the White House to add funding to both the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program. These programs ran out of funding last week. The U.S. House of Representatives is expected to pass the bill Thursday, sending it to President Trump’s desk for his signature later this week.

The PPP will see more than $300 billion in additional funding, after the initial $349 billion ran out after approximately two weeks. Approximately $60 billion of these funds would be set aside for community-based lenders, credit unions, and smaller banks to assist smaller businesses without established relationships with big banks and were shut out from accessing the funds in the first round of loans. The EIDL program will receive an additional $60 billion.

ACT FAST! Funding WILL NOT Last!
If you have not already applied for a PPP loan or an EIDL and are thinking of doing so, we cannot stress enough the importance of getting your application in as quickly as possible after funding is added to the programs. Some experts are estimating that these additional funds may only last a few days, due to very high demand, and it is unclear when (or if) additional funding will be allocated to these programs.

For info on how to apply, see the “SBA Paycheck Protection Program Loans” and “Small Business Administration” sections of the MAC Virtual Toolkit.
